Linux Essentials Training

The Georgia Cyber Center is offering Linux Essentials Professional Development Certificate (PDC) training. It serves as an ideal stepping stone to the more advanced LPIC Professional Certification track for Linux systems administrators. The training will be held in the Cyber Center’s Virtual World and include hands-on labs and activities.

The training will be provided in four, two-day blocks with multiple date offerings each quarter in 2019.

First quarter training dates:

  • January 24 and 25
  • February 21 and 22
  • March 25 and 26

The evaluation block also lasts two days and includes a written test.

Students must complete at least three training blocks and the evaluation block.

Topics include:

  • Command line basics
  • Directories and file systems
  • Basic scripting
  • Security monitoring
  • Linux OS
  • Linux networking
  • Managing users, groups, and files

The individual rate is $150 for each two-day block. Special rates are available to government employees and members of the U.S. military.
