Scholarship Opportunities for Cyber Ops Training

The Cyber Workforce Academy is providing scholarship opportunities to help working professionals obtain skills to enhance, progress, or re-direct their careers in cybersecurity and information technology.

The training scholarships will cover the cost of training or a specified discount for the cost of training. Scholarships do not cover personal expenses or travel costs.

Training Requirements

Participants must bring their own laptop for the class. They must also have a basic knowledge of computer systems or networks.

Awards for CCNA Cyber Ops Training

Two full-value scholarships (exam voucher not included)

One $750 off discount voucher (exam voucher included with course registration)

One $500 off discount voucher (exam voucher included with course registration)

One $250 off discount voucher (exam voucher included with course registration)

Depending on the applications received, all scholarships may not be awarded.

Why CCNA Cyber Ops?

Cybersecurity operations jobs play a key part in securing information systems through monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing, and responding to security events, thus protecting systems from cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.

Cybersecurity operations jobs are also among the fastest-growing roles in IT as organizations set up security operations centers and establish teams to monitor and respond to security incidents.

Guidelines for Applications

Applications must include the following information:

  • Name, contact information, and preferred contact method (phone, email, mailing address)
  • Short biography (about 500 words or less)
  • Short essay (no more than 2000 words) addressing (1) why you deserve the scholarship, (2) why you want to attend training, and (3) how you will use your new skills.

Applications must not include such personal information as dates of birth or Social Security numbers. Do not submit photographs. The submission of any unrequested information or items will result in disqualification.

Procedures for Submitting Your Application

Applications must be submitted no later than January 10, 2019.

Applications must be emailed to with a subject line of "Cyber Scholarships".

Applicants who are not awarded a scholarship for Cyber Ops training may apply for and be considered for future scholarship opportunities.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by January 25, 2019, of their award. If a scholarship recipient cannot be contacted within 72 hours of the award date, the scholarship may be given to the next eligible applicant.

If the scholarship recipient is unable to attend the training, they must provide notification no later than January 31, 2019. The value of their award may be applied to another training event at equal or lesser value within six months of the award.

Scholarships are non-transferable, and individuals may only receive one award in any 12-month period.
